  1. Released in , this record from The Gun Club once again sees the light, now reissued on deluxe thick vinyl, remastered, with a gatefold cover, full lyrics and previously-unreleased photography. Pastoral Hide & Seek is an album full of Gun Club's finest and most complex melodies, on which Jeffrey Lee Pierce developed his most complete songwriter skills.
  2. this work of the gun club is a little more melodic. it's has many great songs, i realy like the eskimo blue day song (this song wants to make you jump into a car and drive around ^^)the sound quality is great, so are the live acts for the divinity part. if you can find this album somewhere.. you should definitly buy it!5/5(2).
  3. Dec 06,  · referencing Pastoral Hide & Seek, LP, Album, FIRE LP 28 The twelfth or so Gun Club album, done after Mother Juno (which was where Jeffrey Lee & Kid Congo reunited). It’s miles away from the band’s fire-swamp roots, and the production is almost too slick, but Jeff’s voice and songs have a diseased consistency that no amount of slickness 4/5().
  4. The Gun Club's `The Las Vegas Story' is one of my favourite albums from the s- I have been gutted since my lovely tape copy (with bonus track Secret Fires) fell apart a few years ago. The Gun Club had already been through a few incarnations, their late great leader Jeffrey Lee Pierce present and correct/5(28).
  5. The Gun Club Story, Part 3 (of 3) by Stevo Olende Over the next two years, Pierce went solo, recording the LP Wildweed with a band including ex Cure & Spear Of Destiny members. This record still stands up and on last checking was still available from Triple X records. This LP is the first one to feature Jeffrey Lee playing nearly all the guitar.
  6. Oct UK London,Town & Country Club [with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds + The Moodists] Note: Most likely a one-off date, but it's possible that The Gun Club did a few more dates in the UK in October, although Kid was then touring with the Bad Seeds: from Sep (first date in Europe), then the UK and ending in the US (on Nov).

  8. Gatefold cover with printed inner sleeve. Recorded and mixed at ICP - Bruxelles (May ). Mastered by Digi-Pro - Paris. Bang! Records would like to thank Jacqui Pierce for making this release possible. Track B4 has not appeared previously on vinyl and is a cover version of a Jefferson Airplane song/5(21).
  9. On 's Pastoral Hide & Seek, Jeffrey Lee Pierce had promoted himself to lead guitar (Kid Congo Powers was still on hand to provide slide licks), and his concise, stripped-down guitar lines lead the band away from the blues structures of their earlier work and into a leaner, more contemporary R&B-styled direction (especially on "St. John's Divine" and "The Straits of Love .
